Shan Qi is a project that started in Oslo during summer 2003.

It is based on compositions by Giovanni Amighetti and Guo Yue and see collaborations from musicians coming from Italy, China and Norway as Guido Ponzini, Gjermund Silset, Helge A. Norbakken, Børge Petersen-Øverleir, Wu Fei.

It means “Mountain Energy” as both Yue and Giovanni found some of their composing strenght came from mountain landscapes.

Worked mainly as live project (including sometimes guests as Marzouk Mejiri and Daniele Sepe in Naples 2005) but in 2006 we decided to present it as musical production for the new video section of ARVmusic.org.

Recording started September 21st 2006 and ended September 30th, musicians present were Guo Yue, Giovanni Amighetti, Wu Fei, Guido Ponzini and Helge Norbakken, we filmed every day in very beautiful and different locations on Italian Alps, Friuli and Veneto.
